Privacy policy
DXF Cut Preflight is a Chrome extension that opens and checks DXF drawings entirely on your own computer. This policy covers both the extension and this website, which are described separately because they behave differently.
The extension
What it processes
When you choose or drop a DXF file, the extension reads and processes that drawing inside your browser in order to render it and run the preflight checks you requested.
What it collects, sends, and shares
It does not collect, upload, transmit, sell, rent, or share your DXF files or their contents. It does not use cloud processing. It does not create an account, request a sign-in, or collect browsing history. It does not send telemetry containing file data.
This is enforced by how the extension is built rather than only by policy. It requests no Chrome permissions and no host permissions, and makes no network requests as part of its feature set.
Storage and retention
Your drawing is processed in the extension while you use it. The extension does not save the drawing to a remote server and does not keep a cloud copy of it.
This website
This site is a set of static pages. It sets no cookies and runs no advertising scripts. Its host records ordinary web server request logs, as any web server does.
It does count page views, using Vercel Web Analytics. That is worth describing precisely rather than hiding behind the word “anonymous”: it records the page visited, the referring page, and coarse technical details such as country, browser, operating system, and device type. It sets no cookies, does not fingerprint your browser, does not build a profile of you, and cannot follow you to other websites. It exists so we can tell which of these articles are worth writing more of.
The website and the extension are separate. This analytics script runs on this website only. It is not in the extension, it never sees a drawing, and it cannot — the extension requests no permissions and makes no network requests at all. Nothing you do on this site touches your files, and the extension does not contact this site.
Changes to this policy
If the data practices of the extension change, this policy and the Chrome Web Store privacy disclosures will be updated before that version is published.
